The Arts Center of Kershaw County is proud to announce the 2023 MAD Festival September 30 – October 8!
The MAD festival is a 9-day festival celebrating music, art, drama, and dance with events throughout Downtown Camden and Kershaw County. This year’s schedule serves as a perfect launch point, including an incredible range of gospel, chamber, and popular music, as well as the visual arts, theatre, and more.
Here’s a quick look at just a few of the exciting events at this year’s Festival!
The Mad Music Trail: Enjoy live music at restaurants and bars across the Downtown Camden Cultural District.
The Poets Heart: Experience a chamber music performance by the incredibly talented group Some Strings Attached.
MAD Gallery Crawl: Visit galleries across downtown Camden, including the Arts Center’s exhibition Quilted Impressions 2.
Quilters: Discover the beauty, terror, and joy of frontier life through a production of the musical Quilters.
The MAD Festival’s capstone event is the MAD Extravaganza. Based at the Arts Center of Kershaw County, this full-day celebration of the arts features access to the Basset Gallery, an open house, artist market, and an all-day concert. Be sure to bring an appetite, because food trucks and the Kombi Keg will be serving food and beverages throughout the event!

The concert features a number of well-known groups from across the Midlands, including Brighter Beginnings, Marcus Gullen, The Terence Young Project, and Villa*Nova. Tickets are just $5 to experience the Extravaganza, so be sure to get yours today!
